After graduating high school, Marlene attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Art Education.  Her favorite mediums included charcoal and oil paints.  After graduating in 2000 Marlene secured her first teaching job in Maryland.  Naturally teaching became her focus until she pursued a Masters in Art Education from Towson University.  Taking required drawing and painting classes during this time helped Marlene to continue her love of mark-making.
